I’m One!

Happy Birthday to me

It was my Birthday last Friday according to Mummy and Daddy. I can’t remember being born, but I’m sure they’re right

I got a play tent with ball chutes from Nanny Ruth and Grampy Phil, and a traditional wooden walker from Granddad David and the softest pair of sheepskin boots from Granny Biddy. Mummy and Daddy got me some Mega Bloks and a jigsaw.

My friend William got me a squid for the bath, it’s fast! Kai got me a wooden train made of lots of little parts, I think I might have lost some bits already – sorry Kai!.

Aunty Becky and family came on Sunday and we had a birthday tea and cake. Daddy cut the cake before putting the candle in, but Mummy reminded him and I got to have a wish when Mummy and Daddy blew it out.

Connor and Kaitlyn got me a thing which blows balls out of it and plays music, it can get a bit annoying at times Mummy says! Cousin Connor seemed to really enjoy it while they he was here though, so it must be good.

Today I discovered how to turn the musical drum sticks on and off. That means Mummy and I can play musical statues

It wasn’t just my eyes :-(

Daddy took me to the doctors and they said it looked like I had poorly eyes and gave me some antibiotic eyedrops which I didn’t like. That night though I got a high emperature and I was in lots of pain so mummy took me back to the doctors the next day. The doctor said it looked like an ear infection and it was probably a virus and I should take lots of pain killers and it should clear up by itself. And I didn’t need the eye drops

Mummy was with me all day Thursday and Friday – which was my birthday, what a birthday! More details in a bit. On Saturday I saw Kate and Nick and Kai and I was feeling a bit better so we played for a bit. But Mummy was feeling ill and she just got iller and iller. On Monday Mummy had me all by herself and we went to visit Daddy at lunchtime because Mummy couldn’t cope because she felt so ill. She has decided it’s more like a mild flu with mucus EVERYWHERE!!!

On Tuesday I went back to nursery after a week away, it was nice to be back but it’s taken me a day or so to get settled again. I was sleeping a lot at home and giving very good hugs and not eating very much except Mummy milk so I’ve lost some weight. Expect I’ll put it on again soon though!

I feel loads better now but I have a cough and it wakes me up during the night sometimes.

Sore eyes!

On Sunday Mummy and Daddy took me out to their friends birthday party, it was fun, but while we were there Daddy noticed that my eyes were running and that I appeared to have lots of “sleep” in them. Next day Mummy took me to the pharmasist and they said everything thing was fine.

I went to Nursery today and my eyes got even worse, Beena at the nursery phoned Daddy and he came to get me early which was nice, I was happy to see Daddy.

Nursery wont let me come in tomorrow in case the other babies get sore eyes too, so Daddy is taking the day off work to take me to the doctors to see if there is anything wrong. If there is Mummy will take the next day off work until I get better. I like being with Mummy and Daddy so I dont mind, but I’d like to get back to Nursery as soon as possible, I like playing with my friends!

It’s cold outside

I have my very own bought for me first pair of mittens, hat and scarf. The hat and scarf have velcro on them to make it easier for me to keep them on. Wonder how I’ll do at it… I expect it’s going to take a lot of practice to learn to not keep pulling my mittens off, and as for the hat I’ll have to learn to not hate having something put on my head first. This could be a long winter…

I’d really like Mummy or Daddy to put string on the mittens and loop it through my coat, then I’ll be the warm cool kid on the block

Fireworks

They frighten me and keep me awake. Please be considerate and don’t do them after 7pm!

My first nose bleed!

Breaking news today! I lunged for mummy this evening and missed the soft landing of her breast. Instead I landed on my nose on her knee. It hurt lots and I had blood coming out of my nose. Mummy gave me lots of hugs and kisses and MILK!!!! Just what I was after

Today mummy alos took me to open gym at Gymboree where I met up with my friend (whose name I can’t remember, hey I’m only a  baby!). He’s had his hair all shaved off, I hope Daddy doesn’t do that to me! Mummy also took me to the park and we played on the swings and the roundabout. I like playing with other children.

I also don’t feel very well I have a cold and Mummy was very nice and gave me some Calpol which made me feel much better. I didn’t have a very good night last night either because of not feeling well. Kept Mummy and Daddy up for about 2 hours, sorry!

Napping and clapping

I did another cool thing today. I managed to walk at the same time as clapping along to “Wind the Bobbin Up”. Mummy thought I was very clever

I also managed a 3 hour nap! I can’t remember EVER doing that. It was because I was very tired, all that walking you know…
